Work in progress

I was very happy this week to continue the update of my website after to have installed a new slide-show for photos. You could watch a perfect example on this link by double-clicking on the main picture.

In the same time that I began a new opus of  "Ceci n'est pas...", I painted the dead-layer of this pleasant composition on linen and started this new piece (on linen too) with the first underlayer.

On my Facebook, you will be able to follow a new large piece that I'll work with acrylic for the first steps. I'm waiting frames this week for 3 small pieces too. The week to come will be very busy. ^^

Flemish oil technique stage 5

So, after a long time to dry, I came back on this beautiful composition for the first color layer. You have to work with more boiled linseed oil but not too more. Boiled linseed oil turned yellow less in the time. Layers must be thick for the clear parts and dense in colors for the dark parts. For example, the black bottom of this layer is more charged in ultramarine hell than my habits for this layer. For other parts, don't forget to work with transparency, it's better. An example here is the pages of the book. At the beginning, we are afraid of charging in colors then the picture can seem mat. With the second layer of colors, all will be better. ;-)
